Why do I need to study English?

Finally, we Rendez-vous tomorrow! Cann't wait to catch up! I am sure you guys would feel the same, right?

This morning, technically in the afternoon(as we woke up at 11 am this morning and this happend at around 12 pm, one strange guy suddenly barged into our room. I was quite startled with this unwarned intrusion. Even though I immediately realised that this guy is one of those staff from the accomodation administration to look into some techinical matters, I felt quite 'invaded'. (Those workers have this master key to enter at their will at any time under the excuse of repairing or inspecting stuff on behalf of the landlord) What made me feel worse was that he didn't even bother to explain what he was there for and came inside of the kichen straight on where I was cooking our brunch.

Then, it hit me that he decided not to bother to 'talk' to us assuming that we-Jun and I- didn't have a proper command of English. At my bewilderment, I gave him a way at first and let him do whatever he had to do. But next moment, I felt something wrong in this picutre and started to regain my composure and asked him what he was doing. He said he was to change a gas metre. and I pointed out that we didn't get any notice on this before. and he replied "this is the house of the landlord", and he even got a "key", producing a bunch of dangling keys in chain in front of me. Gosh... Can you believe this? Where is the right of privacy? Where is the right of tenents? Where is the common courtesy of visiting someone's house? Seriously, where is the common sense?

By pointing out the fact that we are living here and we have a privacy and life, I reasoned with him. Then I let him do whatever he had to do, checking with him that it would take 20 mins or so. And I waited... Poor jun needed to wait to taste my wonderful 미역국.

When he said that it was done, his attitude was a bit different from that of first moment. He even tried to be friendly and said, 'it didn't take that long, huh?' with a smile, which I appreciated to a certain degree.

This is another episode to remember why you need to study English, when you have to conjure up good reasons why you are going through all those hassles to learn English.

I would say... (a biy cheesy though): To make a better harmonized world. Don't let anyone look down on you, simply because you can't speech Ensligh. Let them help themselves to keep a civilised manner and have a chance to be a friendly neighbor to you.
That's it. .... for now. :)

Cheers
Signing off!
